Vancouver: Agassiz Tulip Festival

There are times in life, when things just line up.

Getting to visit the Agassiz Tulip Festival was one of those times for me. It was the last weekend when the festival would be open to the public. We were trying to figure out how to get to Agassiz when a friend of Kryz‘ (Jam) offered to take us.

Jam, I just want to thank you and your family again for your generosity and hospitality! Agassiz Tulip Festival

The tulips were so beautiful. It was like a rainbow of flowers stretching out as far as the eye could see.

The whole way over there it was gloomy and stormy. But once we arrived the rains stopped and the sun came out to play.

Here’s my lovely mommy looking gorgeous as usual.

And this is my friend, Anne. She’s such a talented photographer you should definitely check out her work if you haven’t yet. Kryz and I keep telling her she’d make a great model and needs to be in front of the camera as well!

I was caught red handed trying to get a selfie with the tulips. TBH, this photo turned out so much nicer than the actual selfie.

I loved how the tulips were all arranged by color but every once in awhile you’d spot something like this:

And when the skies cleared up we got an amazing view of the mountains in the distance.

The whole experience left us wanting to sing, “the hills are alive, with the sound of music….” and for awhile, we did.

Till next time,

  1. These are amazing. Love the way that although they are vibrant, you have captured them in a natural way. Personal favourites are the 3rd for the impact given from the leading line (although I may have got slightly lower), 6th due to the well chosen DOF and 15th for the delicateness of the two red tulips at the front. A brilliant post.
