Sabs, for my lovely surprise. I can’t remember the last time I received a birthday card through the mail.

x,

Jack

I love mail, I must have mentioned this before. I love getting mail and I love taking the time to send someone something. In my opinion, making an effort to write a letter or put together a package just sends a little extra love along with your message. And really, who doesn’t need more love?

Today I got mail (if you hadn’t already guessed) from my awesome yu banr (language partner) and good friend Emma.

After a few moments of jumping up and down and squealing in delight. I unwrapped this gorgeous blinged out silver cuff. It’s shininess made me fall for it instantly. And it was perfect for what I was already wearing today.

Thank you so much Emma! You’ve made my day. x

Role reversal, photos for this post are care of the marvelous KRYZ UY.

I just spent all afternoon setting up my Mail app on Mac.

First, I went to the local iCenter for help and it took them awhile to figure out what the problem was. They were very nice, and accommodating, and they really did try to help… but after 2 hours of watching their tech guy play around with the settings when I got home I just deleted everything and started over cause I didn’t like the set up hahaha. Let me explain:

The iCenter guy tried to set it up using POP. Which took awhile (2 hours) because it kept saying that I was typing in the wrong password or that it couldn’t connect to google (I looked it up, seems like this is a common problem). Eventually he fixed it and I started to download my emails from work and from my personal account. And that took another 2 hours. (I have a lot of mail and a mediocre to crappy internet connection)

Finally, when its all done, I notice all my labels (from gmail) are missing. I’m a little obsessive compulsive when it comes to making sure everything is nice and organized so I was a little upset. Searched Googles forums and found that if you use POP, it will not import your labels into folders and that POP is more unreliable? (if that is the case then why is it the default setting?) And I really didn’t want to have to sort through all those emails again, it was bad enough the first time. So I delete everything and did it again using IMAP.

For now I’ve decided to test run this set up with just my personal email cause really, I cannot spend anymore time waiting for the work emails to download (again) and run the risk of something going wrong (again). I just hope I don’t run into anymore problems with this because it’s beginning to feel like its more trouble than it is worth.

Though I have to say, I feel very satisfied with having done this by myself. In the past, when I was still using a PC, my boyfriend usually sets the tech stuff up for me. But he’s anti-mac so since I’ve gotten mine I’ve had to fend for myself. And it feels good.

I am an independent woman! Hear me jump up and down with joy for finally getting this thing set up!

I hope I didn’t make iCenter sound bad cause they were really very helpful. If I had any future needs or concerns I’d definitely go back! I’m just stubborn is all…
