Holiday Mode: Hong Kong (again)

I just had to share this. Here’s a short film by Ian Gamester. Talk about seeing the beauty in your everyday.

 

I’ve been thinking about how much we take our everyday moments for granted and I’ve decided to started carrying a point and shoot around again. I can’t tell you how much fun its been to just take snapshots again. To focus on whats happening and not think about my settings, exposure, or the weight of the camera around my neck. Here is some Hong Kong randomness with my lovely sisters.

We’re breaking all the rules, chasing trees

My sister and I drove by this field and I saw an image taking shape. I had a vision of a lone tree, standing tall in the grass, with blue skies stretched out above. We pulled over and walked around a bit, trying to find “my tree”. We were on private property and trying to be stealthy. Which was difficult with me screaming: “we’re breaking all the rules!!!” every few minutes.

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to find what we were looking for and this is the closest that I got.

The thing is the night before I had prepared my outfit for the next day… and what I had planned was not suitable for chasing trees.

Dressed in this with my camera around my neck I looked like tourist lost in the city.

At the end of it all I was hot, sweaty, gawked at but drivers going by with no picture to show for my efforts. But I was happy. Deliriously happy because I have a sister who’s awesome enough to stop in the middle of nowhere and chase trees with me.
