Something’s Coming…

Did you ever get the feeling that something (big?) is gonna happen soon.

I don’t know what it is, I don’t know how I know… I just know.

Or maybe I’m just hoping that something’s gonna happen soon :p Sigh, anyway, more flowers:

Road Trip: Busay

My mom and I went to Busay yesterday. I’ve lived in Cebu 23 years and this is my first time in Busay.

I know, I’m a poor excuse for a Cebuana.

Busay was seriously beautiful. It was nice to leave the chaos/dirt/grim of the city, even for just half a day. Photo below was taken right by the road.

Listened to Sea Green, See Blue (currently loving that song) on the way up (and down and up and down) the mountain (bukid) and of course, had the song stuck in my head the whole time I was shooting.

There’s something really nice about shooting plants. Maybe it’s because they don’t look at you funny when you’re singing to yourself off-key.

Becoming a Better Cebuana,

Enjoying the Rainy Day

It’s raining in sunny Cebu – I love it when it rains.

Especially when I have nothing better to do than enjoy a hot cup of coffee and and stare at the gloomy horizon. I can’t see anything beyond my neighbor’s overgrown tree but I don’t mind. I’m enjoying the cool weather and trying to think of what to make for dinner tonight.

In this moment, with my coffee in one hand and my camera in the other, things couldn’t be better.

Eva is now 14 days old.

So when my sister asked me to make an invitation for the little one’s christening, I jumped at the chance to have a little (very little i.e.  5 minute) photo shoot. Especially since Eva was now familiar enough in her surroundings not to be freaked out when she isn’t completely wrapped in her blanket.

Flower Power

I love taking pictures of flowers, they just make you smile :) They’re delicate and just plain pretty. If you’ve been to my flickr or DeviantArt or Multiply you know I can’t resist a good flower shot.

I haven’t taken any in awhile cause… I just didn’t have access to any. Well, last month was my sister’s birthday and someone got her flowers.

Aren’t they pretty?

Don’t they make you smile?

And they really good title pages too! Like this could be for a wedding, or and engagement, or even a debut. I just put in placeholder text :p

And they’re super easy t shoot too, just put them by a big window (with lots of light) and open your aperture real wide to get the beautiful bokeh effect and you can’t go wrong. You can see more shots and the EXIF HERE.

On a side note, how come I never get flowers? The only flowers I ever get are these kind:

Someone owes me some flowers. You know who you are!
