I get a lot of grief from photographers who believe that photoshop/photo-manipulation somehow makes you less of a photographer. Today I got this from Chase Jarvis’ blog – below is Richard Avedon’s instructions to his printer.

As I said before: my younger sister, Krys, is home for her sembreak. Every time she comes home we always do the following:
1. Go to the gym
2. Go to the beach
3. Have a photoshoot
Well sembreak is ending and true to our tradition we’ve done all three. Here’s a snippet of our totally awesome and well thought out (giggle) photoshoot.
The soft pretty light was nice but I wanted something more subdued… almost desaturated even.
Then I thought, subdued and high contrast would be awesome:
Now, here’s an example of fun with textures:
And here’s an example of taking it a little too far:
Though to be honest with you, the last one is my favorite. It’s exactly what I wanted and I’m so happy with the result! Even if I almost blinded Kryz in the process
Love you dai!

Hung out with my family last Sunday at La Marea . Great place to chill with awesome giant windows just perfect for taking pics of the yummy desserts
So I’m taking pictures, minding my own business, when I notice a weird shadow in my shots. I turn and see:

Maybe she wanted my dessert?

People watching is fun… especially when the people you’re watching are doing this and you happen to have your camera handy to take a few paparazzi shots:

For people-watching-fun I highly recommend the balcony of Ayala’s Terraces. I was having coffee there with my mom and snapping pics of anything that looked pretty.
I had my photobuggy assignment in mind when I realized the person right next to me fit the bill perfectly. So here’s my contribution for photobuggy 10.09.09: Natasha Bedingfield’s Pocketful of Sunshine.
So what did you do today?

I’ve said many times before and I’ll keep saying it: how awesome would it be if the world was one big musical?
Well internet, looks like my dreams are coming true. Taking it one number at a time
Speaking of the Black Eyed Peas and getting a feelin’ (what a segue) a few friends and I have started our own collaborative photoblog: photobuggy! Everyday someone picks a song and we take one photo each, inspired by that song. We don’t plan it and we don’t get to see each others photos until it’s ready for posting. Yesterday’s song was I Gotta Feelin’ (huwat! see how I went full circle with that one? uh-huh).
Last sunday I was Izzy’s official photog for her first time at the Carnival. It was fun even is she was too wittle (aww) to actually ride any of the rides… or eat any of the food.
